At the UNFCCC COP28 held in Dubai from November 30 to December 13, 2023, the project
efforts were presented. The event, titled “Enhancing forest monitoring and management through innovative satellite solutions – to accelerate NDC implementation through REDD+”, was hosted by JAXA and co-hosted by JICA at the Space Pavilion. Rodrigo Ibama, the President of IBAMA, gave a keynote presentation on the reduction of Amazon deforestation and the activities of Project-MORI, including measures against illegal deforestation.
